Benahavis is a popular mountain village situated only 7 km from the beach and between Marbella, Estepona and Ronda. The age of tourism really started in the 1960's with small restaurants offering the typical "Plato Combinado", "Chorizos al Agua" and "Arroz con Conejo" (eggs, chips, highly-seasoned pork sausages,' chops, rice and rabbit) Nowadays, the menu is more varied, offering dishes such as shoulder of lamb, venison, suckling pig, T-bone steak, partridge or fish, like sea bass, salmon and gilthead. One can also find superb salads, seafood cocktails, prawnpil-pil and roasted cheese on spinach. In addition there is a delicious variety of home-made desserts on offer.
